Heacham Manor Hotel, Spa and Golf Course is a new development on Hunstanton Road, Heacham and converts the traditional farmhouse building of Manor Farm into a 12 bedroom luxury hotel, complete with bar, function facilities and a fine dining restaurant. The existing farm buildings are also being converted into a pampering spa complex and 33 self contained holiday cottages of which a part ownership scheme is available. The golf course development is well underway and has a planned opening of May 2009, please see course plans included as well as a score card with estimated yardages and par for the course. Designed in a links style the course will challenge all golfers, a long course at over 7,000 yards means it will be one of the longest in Norfolk, however with a number of teeing areas on each hole the course will be playable for all handicaps. The Natural features of the Heacham and Ringstead Rivers run through the course and the design maximises these to the full potential, the rivers being an integral part of the 3rd, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th holes. As well as the rivers the course comprises of 4 lakes and the 7th hole demands a long carry of 180 yards off the whites straight to the green. A planting scheme is also in place with native species of trees and shrubs planted to enhance the course and complement existing trees and bushes on the golf course. A large clubhouse, function room and golf shop is planned to be built by 2011, until that point members will use the already established clubhouse of Searles Golf and Country Club as a base. Membership benefits to Heacham Manor Golf Club will include playing rights to the new 18 hole golf course, competitions, handicaps, discounted tuition fees and social events. Heacham Manor Golf Club will also be affiliated to the English Golf Union and the Norfolk Golf Union so members will have the benefit of county cards giving reduced fees on courses throughout Norfolk. |
