Welcome to Poetry Corner.
I hope you have managed to avoid the cold virus that has been going
around.
I'm afraid I didn't, I have been feeling quite sorry for myself these
last three weeks.
I always say the one good thing about feeling under the weather
is the wonderful feeling when you are back on form.
I am sure you will enjoy reading
the two poems I have selected for November.

Fireworks
By Lois Cole (aged 8) of Cheltenham
Way up high
In the sky
Bang pop fizz
Whirr zip whiz
Fireworks green, yellow and red
I stay up late after bed
Silver fountains spurting out
It’s the amazing colours I’m on about
Rockets zipping through the night
Leaving behind a trail of light
Roman candles, flickering flame
I really like this firework game
Way up high
In the sky
Bang pop fizz
Whirr zip whiz

As the wind is in the
trees
I am with you.
As the birds are on the wing,
I am with you.
As the sun glints and sparkles on the water,
I am with you.
As I draw each breath,
I am with you.
As the stars shine at night,
I am with you.
With every thought I think,
I am with you.
As the soft wind brushes my cheek,
I am with you.
In all things I know,
I am with you.
As the sun makes a diamond of rainbow fire,
I am with you.
In the intricacy of a spider's web,
I am with you.
In every waking moment,
I am with you.
In every wondrous dream,
I am with you.
In every good idea,
I am with you.
In every flash of insightful understanding,
I am with you.
In all I do,
I am with you.
