Chairman’s Report
for July 2006

This year’s Treasure Hunt is even more fun than before! The questions are in rhyme and will provide a whole lot of fun and help children to learn interesting facts about Heacham past and present. The Treasure Hunt question sheets will be available at schools, the library, the Parish Office and In Heacham outlets in the village from the end of this week and on Heacham-On-Line, as the schools break for the summer holidays. Please encourage the young people to get involved in this fun event. If you spot any bored young villagers or holiday-makers (or their exhausted parents) why not introduce them to the Treasure Hunt. They could win a prize! In Heacham on KLFM The KLFM campaign continues until early September. If you haven’t heard it yet tune in on Wednesdays through Saturdays and listen out for the In Heacham radio advertising on KLFM. Review of feedback on the vouchers We will be reviewing the effectiveness of the voucher scheme at this month’s meeting. Why not come along and give us the benefit of your view ¨ Have you been offered the vouchers whilst shopping in Heacham? ¨ Are the offers worthwhile? ¨ Are people “cashing them in?” ¨ Are the vouchers convenient to use? Forthcoming events We have formed a sub-committee of members to plan and oversee arrangements for a business-ideas event for the early Autumn. We will be calling upon business experts from the village and outside who can share their valuable knowledge and experience with us in a fun and informal way. The key subjects for the event will be marketing, IT for business success, local government/regulatory, business planning, banking/finance and tax/legal issues for small and medium business. We hope to arrange a really worthwhile evening at a village location and we will be making announcements towards the end of August for an event in the Autumn. Come to a meeting and give us your viewsWe would still really like to hear from any of you with: ¨ Ideas for events to promote or help Heacham businesses ¨ Ideas that might help Heacham businesses in any way ¨ Feedback on any of our activities
