The sun shone through for the Fifth Heacham Scarecrow Festival which made up for the poor weather in the past few years.  The theme for this year's scarecrow entries was "animals" and although there appeared to be fewer scarecrow entries this year some high quality efforts were still evident.  Visitors to the Festival were given the opportunity to vote for this year's winners.  HOL awaits results from the organisers.

The fun and talent of The Lavender Hill Mob provided the major entertainment backdrop for the event and they certainly sounded good to me.  Move over Britain's Got Talent!!

Various fund raising events were staged including Splat the Rat, the usual Tombola, Guess the No of Sweets in the Jar (which was won by 8 year old Martin Allam).  The children also enjoyed throwing the wet sponges at some of their friends and willing adult victims too.

In addition, there was the usual tea, cake and biscuit refreshments on offer for those that wished to enjoy a leisurely afternoon tea in the fantastic grounds of Millbridge on a lovely sunny day.
