The
Heacham hosts to this year's summer fundraising event on
behalf of Norfolk Wildlife could not have been more blessed with
wonderful weather had they prayed for it. Rob and
Gel were delighted to welcome friends of Norfolk Wildlife to
their lovely garden and they invited HOL along for a peek.
It was a quintessentially English afternoon garden party
complete with tea and cake along with bowls (or is it boules?),
stalls selling raffle tickets, barbecue tickets, books, cakes,
icecreams and plants. There was also a stall offering
games and quizzes which were related to questions about the
hosts' garden. Not being a gardener, or a
horticulturalist in any way, I found the quiz beyond me but I
am sure the judges enjoyed my tongue in cheek answers!!
Everyone appeared to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the
garden and raised more than £400 for this worthwhile cause to
boot. I hope you enjoy the photos of this event on these
pages.
Established in 1926, the Norfolk Wildlife Trust
is the oldest of a nationwide network of 47 such trusts.
Each trust works to protect our wildlife and improve wild
habitats. The Trust cares for more than 50 nature
reserves plus other protected locations around the UK both
inland and coastline and is a strong influence over many
Norfolk areas of outstanding natural beauty.
