More Tea Vicar?

Every seat was filled in The Church of St Mary the Virgin on Saturday, 12 May 2022 to welcome Heacham's new Vicar, The Reverend Steve Davies, who was collated and inducted as the Vicar of Heacham.  Steve has the good fortune to have Heacham as his first parish as a Vicar and, as the Bishop of Norwich said in his address to those present, it is a case of "buy one get one free!" (Steve's wife, Alison, is also an ordained Minister.)

Supporters from the church community pulled out the stops in laying on a real tea party in honour of the occasion.  Guests were plied with copious amounts of home made cakes (very good too I might add) and tea and coffee following the formal proceedings, which was attended by a delegation from Steve and Alison's previous parish of Crawley, Littleton and Sparsholt (just outside of Winchester) where he was curate for 4 years.

Steve was born into the mining valleys of South Wales but spent his formative years in Africa (his parents had a very exciting working life which involved successive postings abroad).  Steve and Alison have two independent grown up children, Siān (25) and Paul (23) who plan to live and work in London.

Heacham-On-Line would like to welcome Steve and Alison to Heacham and wish them many happy years in their new ministry.

Unfortunately, I was not permitted to photograph the formal proceedings and, owing to a sleeping 4 year old on my lap, missed out on snapping the procession at the end.  However, you may like to see the few shots I did manage to take.
