23rd Annual Music Marathon
St Mary's Church Hall, High Street, Heacham
Saturday, 17 March 2022

Stella of HOL would like to thank Doreen Reed (Heacham Digital Camera Club) for this unique feature and photos

At 9.30 the hall was a buzzing
Men were putting out tables and chairs
Ladies were busy in the kitchen
John Harris met our Lady Mayor
The marathon was officially opened
John and team were wished every success
Then John played some tunes on the piano
The ones that folk like the best

For 12 hours there was much entertainment
Tunes played on a trombone
There were singers, poets and the school choir,
Barber shop, a recorder and saxophone
At 8pm “Handbags and Gladrags”
had the audience singing and tapping
then til 10 John played the piano
and the audience kept singing and clapping

A good day and worthwhile fundraising
More than £500 raised to share
Between MS Research, a wheelchair appeal
And support for the children who care

Once again well done John and helpers
For your hard work and showing you care,
We look forward to another day’s entertainment
At the 24th marathon next year.
