£105 now raised for Surgery Amenity Fund - despite the downpour!

With the gentle warmth of a log fire and a choice of 17 different cakes, the cold, damp weather was forgotten for a couple of hours at the Cake Festival held at Heacham's Wheatsheaf Inn on Bank Holiday Monday.  Visitors to what might be Heacham's First Cake Festival enjoyed cups of tea and coffee and sampled as many as six of the 17 cakes.

A small selection of the cakes on offer Landlord, Tony, cuts the first slice

Having enjoyed sampling their preferred cakes, visitors were asked to award marks out of ten to the cakes they had tasted.  Despite serious competition, the two most popular cakes were made by staff of The Wheatsheaf Inn - the Victoria Sponge Cake made by Beth Winsor (Bar/Restaurant Assistant and local B&B provider at Rosevilla) and a naughty but very nice Chocolate Button Cake made by Emma Nye (Catering/Restaurant Assistant and 6th Form Student) both were awarded an average of 9 marks out of 10.  The other 15 cakes were all of a very high standard too.
