A quick dip in The Wash on Norfolk's coastline on Christmas Day is not for the fainthearted (that counts me out).  So, as usual, the Hunstanton & District Round Table's Christmas Day Swimmers were out in force.  Fortunately, it was a fine and dry day with the temperature around 7 degrees.  Following their exertions, the swimmers were invited back to Oasis Leisure Centre for a very welcome cup of hot soup.

There was an increase in spectator levels on previous years.  Although no official figures have been made available to me, I understand that visitors to the spectacle were significantly up on previous years with numbers up to circa 3,000 and there were 40-50 souls taking a refreshing dip for charity.

This year's worthy causes to benefit from the swim included:

Heacham Junior School
Explorers Scout Unit
St Johns Ambulance
QEH Critical Care Equipment Fund
Heacham Recreation Ground Equipment
Heacham Cubs
