Heacham Beach Party
Sunday 30th July 2006

Stella of Heacham-On-Line would like to thank Barry for supplying the photos
and Philippa for editorial for this feature

HOL is pleased to report that the weather was much improved this year and
the 2006 Beach Party attracted significantly more people than ever.
Hundreds of residents and holiday makers enjoyed a wonderfully balmy evening on Heacham Beach.
After bad weather had caused cancellation of the 2005 and 2004 Beach Parties,
the Parish Council were relieved to see a glorious day turn into a lovely evening.

Andy Groom challenged parents to the now familiar "Bits and Pieces" competition
so familiar of Radio 1 Road Shows.
Small children built castles in the sand, had their face painted or sat back to watch Rollo's Magic Show.

An audience of all ages enjoyed a traditional Punch and Judy Show,
whilst Parish Councillors cooked hundreds of burgers and sausages on the BBQ all evening.
The adult and teenage contingent scared themselves by skimming over the wet sands
in the hovercrafts and the verdict... a good time was had by all.....

£376 was raised for the Children's Activity Fund and the Parish Council
are very grateful to all the sponsors and helpers who made the party possible.
