As a direct
result of the "Big Sausage" in this years Heacham Carnival
Parade, Brian Brackenbury has won a 'Golden Banger Award' from the British
Sausage Appreciation Association.
This meritorious award and certificate was awarded for outstanding services to the British
sausage and was presented by T.V. chef Lesley
Waters.
Brian however wishes to say it is as much a tribute to all the residents
of Heacham and surrounding district who made this years carnival parade
such a success by taking part.
The sausage is still making occasional public appearances hanging
outside Alan Howard's butchers shop. May it enjoy its retirement.
