The first 3 photos show what happened on the 19th August 2002 after just 20 minutes of torrential rain in School Road
in Heacham.  Please take a close look at the centre photo which is at the junction of School Road and High Street.
  

The 2 photos below again show the same junction, the date 27th October 2002.  This time it was high winds that did the damage, electricity was cut off and parts of Heacham  were without electricity all day.
The tree survived the rain but did not survive the wind.
