The King's Lynn to Hunstanton Railway Line

Opened 3rd October 1862

Journey time was 1 hour

Fares

3 shillings and four pence  1st Class

2 shillings and six pence  2nd Class

1 shilling and nine pence  3rd Class

Freight Trains finished running in 1964.

The  double line track was made single line from

King's Lynn to Hunstanton on 2nd April 1967.

The Line closed 3rd May 1969 to all traffic.

The last track removal train ran on 15th August 1971.

A July Day in 1955

During its 'LIFE' the line had 2 named trains.

Pre-war the 'EASTERN BELLE' Pullman ran from

London to Hunstanton at a return fare of

seven shillings & sixpence and it ran

once a fortnight on a weekday.

After the war in 1949 the 6.50am from

Hunstanton to London arriving at 9.53am was named

'THE FENMAN'.

The return journey left London at 4.30pm.
